The "Relay for Life Ashiya 2026" event, which our company supports, was held on September 5th and 6th.

 Some of you may be wondering, "What exactly is Relay for Life?"

 Relay For Life is an initiative that supports cancer patients and their families.
 The entire community is working together to "conquer cancer."
 These are charity activities and events that take place throughout the year.


 - Origin and History -
・Beginning
 In 1985, in Washington State, USA, a doctor (Goldie Cratt) drove a truck for 24 hours straight to raise donations, driven by the belief that "cancer never sleeps" and "patients are fighting cancer 24 hours a day."
 • Expansion in Japan: In Japan, it began in 2006 and is currently organized by the Japan Cancer Society and local organizing committees.

 - Main activities and event details -
 - Participants in the relay walk form teams and take turns walking the course through the night (or continuously walking for a set period of time) to demonstrate a sense of solidarity.
 The Survivors' Wrap is a ceremony in which cancer survivors are the first to walk the course, receiving blessings and encouragement.
・Luminarie (Any Off Light of Hope): Candles inscribed with messages are lit to commemorate those who have died from cancer and to encourage those currently battling the disease.
 • Use of Donations: The collected donations will be used for activities supporting cancer patients, raising awareness for early detection, and granting funding for cancer research.

 Our Chairman Nishida himself is a cancer survivor,
 Based on that experience, I have been supporting Relay for Life Ashiya since its inception and have participated as a member of the organizing committee.
 I've completely recovered now, and I'm enjoying both my work and personal life (^.^)
 Some employees also actively participate in the setup and other daily activities.
 We support you every day, hoping to contribute in any way we can as a company.

 In fact, what we do at the venue is, of course, what we've described above, but
 As a place for interaction, there is a tent to welcome survivors, their families, and bereaved families who are taking the first step, and a place where survivors and caregivers (family members, bereaved families, and supporters of survivors) can talk about their current feelings, worries, and uncertainties.
 In the evenings, it also becomes a place where healthcare professionals can listen to people's stories.
 There were stages where you could listen to message songs, and also yo-yo performances.
 In addition, there were several tents for young children to enjoy, making it a place where everyone who attended could feel cheerful.
 This event is open to everyone, not just survivors or caregivers.

 The next Relay for Life Ashiya 2027 is scheduled to be held on September 4th-5th, 2027.
 We will continue to support Kobe Lubricants for another year as they prepare for the event one year from now.
