The "Ashiya Kagawa Soccer Library" is a specialized soccer library established to preserve and utilize over 2,000 valuable soccer-related materials collected by the late Hiroshi Kagawa, who was a prominent soccer journalist for many years.
Hiroshi Kagawa was the first Japanese person to receive the FIFA President's Award as a football journalist, and for many years he has conveyed the charm and history of football.
These materials were entrusted to Ashiya City by the Japan Football Association and donated to the Ashiya City Library, a place closely associated with Mr. Kagawa, who lived there for a long time.
The collection includes many extremely valuable materials for understanding the history of soccer, such as the inaugural issue of "Soccer Magazine," Japan's first soccer-specialized magazine, and programs from past World Cups.
